April 7

It’s been the longest day. It’s not quite 6 and I’ve already been up for 12+ hours after barely sleeping last night. Today was Teagan’s first day back at school since her T1D diagnosis (she couldn’t go back until they had a dedicated nurse at her school) and there were a ton of details to make sure were in place: paperwork, medicine, supplies, 2 snacks and lunch with a log sheet containing carb counts for each item and meetings with the nurse and after school student care. Then Teagan got her first shot from someone other than me at lunch when she went to the nurses office and they said she did awesome! She has been in daycare since she was 18 months old so I never really experienced the “first day of school” anxiety until today.
